Crosby Canyon - Little Gem Auction

Crosby Canyon, © 2013 Keith Bond, 6 x 8 oil

This is my next auction painting.

Based off a couple plein air sketches and photos, this was a study working several elements from various sources into one composition. I was more interested in capturing the spirit of the place rather than a literal likeness. Crosby Canyon is in Southern Utah on the edge of Lake Powell.

The auction will end on Wednesday, Oct 30, 2013 at about 5 am - Mountain Daylight Time.

Add this little gem to your collection.

You are bidding for the painting unframed.

How to Bid:

- Minimum bid begins at $100 - yep, that's it!

- Bidding increments of $25

- No reserve price. Winning bid gets the painting.

- Just bid in the comment section below.

Good luck! I hope you get the painting.

I would love to start the bidding on this gorgeous painting. $100

Very nice painting. I'll go $150

Wonderful idea!
I was so happy she I sold two small 8x8" beach studies (a pair) for $150 at my studio.
I felt on was on to something. Thank you Keith for your fine FASO article and this blog.
I have bought a small painting this way before.
And now you have another fan!

Thank you Keith for sharing through the FASO article! Great idea and information on how to get started. Lovely work btw!

Great idea thanks for the info

Thank you for this information, and for your wonderful painting! I've been looking to start a small auction site, and using my blog site seems to be the logical way to go. I plan on adding shipping information also. PayPal seems to be an efficient and safe vehicle for payment. Work to do! ;-)

REALLY appreciate the info! Love your work!

Thanks for the great comments everyone!

For those bidding on the painting, the current bid is at:

$150

Place your bid at $175

KEITH, NICE STUDY. REMINDS ME VERY MUCH OF EDGAR PAYNE AND THE SPIRIT OF THE EARLY CALIFORNIA PAINTERS. I THINK YOUR APPROACH TO THIS IS THE WAY TO GO AND MORE LIKE WHAT THE OLD GUYS DID. MAKE ART!

Good idea I'll have to try this soon. I like you're painting.

Sorry typed my web address wrong. Your painting is still good like the brush strokes.

Wonderful little gem Keith. Thanks so much for sharing your method with all of us!

All you ideas and viewpoints are great but this tops them. Thanks

What a great way to start a collection of your work! With these prices, framed well, I could cover a wall studio style, without breaking my budget. And I'd have a very nice collection of a well known artist that I love. It just doesn't get any better than this. Thank you. I'll be back.

What a brilliant idea! Good for you for coming up with this, and better for you for sharing it! People love to buy art, but most can't afford to! This is definitely a win/win situation! I hope you sell lots!

Dear Keith
Thank you so much for your sharing and this wonderful inspiration. Wow! Joanie Anderson

How do I sign up for you blog?

Ken, you can follow the RSS feed for the blog (see sidebar) or you can subscribe to my Newsletter. The Newsletter and blog have a lot of the same content, but some is different.

$175

$200

Thank you for giving my left brain side a nudge in the right direction!

I really like the way you linked this with your Blog on your website and then added sending an email and posting on Facebook. A simple plan that seems to work well. I plan to give it a try.

$225

Congrats to Scott!

The Bidding is now closed.

HI Keith,
that's a really good idea and I would say you are having good results. Thanks for sharing your idea d method with us.
I don't know if it would work here in Ireland as our population is so small and money is scarce at the moment with the recession.Of course if the work appealed to overseas clients one could start the bidding high enough to cover postal costs

What a lovely painting ! Each brush stroke is felt with a direct character. I wish i could paint like this, clean, determinate, and unhurried. It has a rhythm, it is almost a portrait...
Did it sell? or is it a bidding auction? It must be gone..
Bravo, Keith.

Thank you! This is very interesting and useful information.
