I've really had a lot of fun painting miniatures lately - both in the studio and en plein air.

A few months ago, I started to auction off some of my older little gems. That approach seems to be well received and makes sense with my small works. I will begin to auction a few off more regularly. Many will be newer with a few older ones mixed in. Some will be plein air and some will be studio. Some are studies for larger studio pieces and some are finished pieces in and of themselves.

I am working on eventually having more sophisticated auction capabilities. But for now, I will use my blog - a pretty low tech solution.

This is a recent painting I did as a demonstration during a workshop I taught in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. This painting is about the optimism of a perfect new day. The light, the warmth, the still/peaceful mood, the prospect of what would come that day...
