This is my 12th year (or 13th?) participating in this show.  I have been awarded the purchase prize twice and received Honorary Artist Member status last year.  Thus, the M.O. Club has three of my paintings in their permanent collection.

Generations

"The West will come to life through vibrant colors in the works of artists with regional to national prominence in this year’s Representing the West Art Exhibition and Sale at the Sangre de Cristo Arts Center. Held September 22 through October 29, 2011, this show will once again feature works from some of the best painters in the Western United States. Now in its ninth year, Representing the West is a national invitational exhibition of traditional representationa​l art in a realist tradition. The work depicts the western American genre highlighting the diversity of the land and its people."

Reflections at Dusk

Group exhibit of members of the Rocky Mountain Plein Air Painters.  Over the past year, members of the RMPAP attended one or more of four organized paint-outs.  The exhibit showcases 3 plein air field studies and one studio piece from the paint-outs.

Peak of Autumn

Annual exhibit in which I have participated for the past 10+ years.  Over the years the MO Club has purchased 2 of my paintings.  They will acquire a third, which will be showcased during this years show, as I am being inducted as an Honorary Artist Member of the MO Club.  The club selects only a couple artists each year to be invited for membership.  Among other things, I was invited because of the high quality my work, popularity with collectors, work which celebrates the club's focus, commitment to the show, consistent sales, etc.

Invitational art show celebrating the Western Art Genre (including Western Landscapes).

50 member and guest artists of Rocky Mountain Plein Air Painters will spend a week and a half painting on location in and around Crested Butte, Colorado.  The event, timed to coincide with Crested Butte's Wildflower Festival, will be hosted by Oh Be Joyful Gallery.  For more information about the show, click here.

Participating artists will paint in the beautiful Sonoma County which is part of California's wine country.  Many events throughout the week include a quick draw on Tuesday, Gala Dinner and Auction on Friday, and Exhibit and Sale on Saturday.  For information and tickets to the Gala, visit Sonoma Plein Air website.
