Painted from a couple plein air field studies. I used the light from one field study and the scene from the other field study and a bit of imagination/memory. I did not use any photographic reference. Both studies were painted at the same location - within a 100 yards of each other - at Picacho Peak State Park, Arizona. The studies are of different views looking in different directions and done on different days with different light conditions. Both worked together to inspire the final composition.
