This was an exercise in using a limited earth tone palette consisting of: yellow ochre, transparent oxide red, ivory black, and white. The challenge was to create a harmony with such a limited and neutral palette. Though the colors are much more subdued than the plein air reference I worked from, there is a natural feeling harmony of an overcast late autumn day.
