Talent Revisited

My thoughts today are a continuation of my last blog / newslatter addressing the role of talent vs. hard work in the development of an artist.  I felt that I needed to clarify one important thing.  I realize that I do have a gift given to me by God.  His great gift to me gives me the inclination to create art.  He has blessed me with the sensibilities that I have to see this world in a unique way.  He has blessed me with the desire to express my veneration through the beautiful language of art.  As I put forth my efforts to develop my talent, he continues to bless me by enabling me to learn and grow.  He blesses me with increased ability.  All I have achieved is a gift from God.  How grateful I am for that.

Keith, I read your initial post and revisited post. I must say you are so right about the hard work, discipline and obsession in order to advance an artist's talents. I've put years into making art and there are days when I ask myself WHY I do this. But when I haven't painted in a few days, I don't feel right. I need to paint. The hard work is well worth it. And being an artist certainly is a blessing. Your work is absolutely amazing. Thanks for the great post.

What a great blog entry. I also acknowledge that God is the sustainer and creator of my artistic talent. What a blessing to hear someone else acknowledge that through practice God always trains us to even greater expression of the beauty He has created. Beautiful art and beautiful words.
